Discussions Can Never Be Won

If you lose, you lose; if you win, you lose.

You make the other harbor resentment, hide their true beliefs if you declare yourself to be right, and increase your ego.

Diplomacy, or tact are better ways of resolving conflict, and if there was no conflict to begin with, then don't discuss.
