Addiction Has Skin In The Game

The threat of losing an addiction is so great that we come up with ingenious ways to justify our behavior.

This is the reason why this saying is not particularly true:

If you worked as much as you scrolled (addiction) on social media you would be a millionaire.

As the threat of losing one is different from the other: addiction has skin in the game.
